| New Speed Limit In ActionA 60mph speed limit will has be implemented on the Express Way. This has been well over due and is in a bid to cut down the number of accidents that have taken place around the expressway. We already have a 40mph on the section before the Old Town New Traffic Lights and The Runcorn / Widens Bridge section. Police are setting up a number of speed traps on the Express Way and you are advised to keep to the correct speed limits. We also know that Halton will be adding more central crash barriers to the Express Ways round Runcorn. This again has been a must for some time as well as closing off the gaps in the middle of the carriage way, which encourages drivers to U turn their vehicles in the middle of the road which is very dangerous to traffic behind and on coming traffic on the other carriageway
Notice Boards ComingThe sites for our first 2 notice boards have been chosen. One will be on the corner of Pitts Heath Land and Wharford Lane, and the other will be on Walsingham Drive.
Millennium Celebration DayGreat event and fun was had by all. We have a number of pictures for you to view.
Bus ServiceWith the opening of the new cinema complex ion Halton Lea, Halton Borough Council has agreed to run an extra bus service in the evening on a TRIAL BASIS. We need your support to keep this service on so please support it.
Play Area OpensI am please to tell you all that a play area for children has been complete. It lies at the far South West end of the village near the Bus Road Hill. However this area has been hit by some vandals. If you see anyone damaging this area please contact the police. A play area near New Moore Lane and in the village centre will be expected soon. The council have committed to completing these within this financial year.
